Travel + Leisure magazine recently announced their list of the most romantic towns in the United States. St. Simons, Georgia topped the list with its Golden Isles, white sand beaches and endless list of romance-friendly categories. St. Simons is home to one of our 26 store locations, so we’re very familiar with this romantic beach town. Since the Fresh Produce St. Simons store’s inception in 2011, you could say we’ve had some time to explore. In our opinion, here’s a short list of the best spots and activities for a romantic getaway. Time to start planning!

Relax & Unwind

How about a little pampering? It’s always nice (and recommended) to start off your trip with a relaxing massage or spa treatment. Try a couple’s massage and unwind together. That way you’ll both be in the same relaxed mindset, ready for the romantic trip ahead.  Once you lay your head down on the massage table, your worries will melt away. Some spas worth visiting are The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort and Spa at Sea Island.

Bicycle Built for Two

Taking a bike ride with your sweetheart embraces a young romance that never gets old. Miles of bike paths accessing historic sites, restaurants, beaches and more romantic destinations awaits! Grab a bicycle built for two and ride away into the sunset.

Pack a Picnic

When was the last time you had an old fashioned picnic? Well, grab your basket and fill it fill lunch for two and bottle of your favorite vino. St. Andrews Picnic Area is the perfect setting to your perfect picnic. Located on Jekyll Island, the park is filled with shade trees, walking paths and access to the beach. After you’ve had your lunch, stroll on toward the beach to watch dolphins swim in the shallow shores.

Lover’s Oak

Legend has it that Native American braves and their maidens would meet under this enormous oak tree and declare their love.  You can find Lover’s Oak at the intersection of Albany and Prince Street in Old Town Brunswick standing the test of time. The tree is predicted to be 900 years old. So, grab your love and meet at the tree.

Make a Reservation

Tucked away in the Village, you’ll find the perfect Italian spot for a date night. Georgia Sea Grill features a menu filed with fresh seafood right from their backyard such as scallops, shrimp, oysters and fish, and traditional Italian pastas and entrees. Psst…this one is recommended by the locals!
