Tips & Tricks: Layering Tanks

In celebration of our BOGO half off all tanks and capris sale, we’ve put together some tips to keep in mind when layering tanks.

Mix warm colors with cool colors and cool colors with warm colors
If you’re worried about clashing colors, just think about balancing them out. If you’re wearing a bright, warm color on top, consider layering a cool color underneath. Similarly, if you’re wearing a light colored top, layer a bright, warm color under to brighten it up. Our favorite FP colors to mix: Daffodil & Laguna, Hot Tropic & Reef, Sunrise & Oyster.

Go tonal
Wearing a bright blue top? Layer a light blue tank underneath to match while still giving your outfit contrast. Pairing tonal colors will add interest to your tops and you can always be certain you match! FP colors we love to tonally pair: Cool Breeze & Laguna, Blush & Cosmos, Reef & Spring Green.

Play with the length
Long tanks can be worn on top or underneath another layer. Wearing our longer Vintage Tank under our Cantina Tank creates a fun look with an interesting hemline; wearing tonal colors in this way could create an ombre look, which is ever-so-popular this summer. Or, consider pairing two bright colors like Daffodil and Cosmos together to create a color-blocked look.

Pack to mix-and-match
Layering tanks gives you the opportunity to make the most of your suitcase space on your next trip to the beach. Pack a tank you can wear as a swimsuit cover-up or under a dress for a nice dinner. Pack another tank you can wear as a top and as a layering piece for a shopping day. Think of all the ways you can incorporate just a couple of tanks into your wardrobe for the beach and you’ll save space!

Dress up tanks with a necklace
If you ever put on a couple of tanks and feel under-dressed for the occasion, throw on a necklace! Try a long, natural necklace when you’re at the beach, or a shorter, colorful necklace for nicer occasions.

However you decide to layer your tanks, make sure to add color and sun and you’ll be set!
