Pantone’s Color of the Year 2014

This past month, Pantone announced that Radiant Orchid is the official Color of the Year for 2014. Does this expressive purple look familiar? That’s because it closely resembles our very own Lilac. We’re glad Pantone thinks it’s just as pretty as we do. “An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

Not only does purple radiate the skin, it’s also flattering to many eye and hair colors, and skin tones. It is known to make you feel healthy and energetic, which means it’s a great color for the New Year. Plus, those who like the color purple best tend to have a creative imagination and think outside the box.

Some our favorite Lilac looks include the Staple Maxi, the Springtime Dress and Vintage Pacific Top. And if you’d like to add just a pop of Lilac try our modal Wanderlust Scarf and Three Row Faceted Teardrop Necklace.

How will you wear Pantone’s Color of the Year?

I agree with Patsy123, we need more clothes in plus sizes. I am so disappointed when I see something I like and then find it is not available in Plus. Also, would like pockets on pants and some dresses.
