Our Earth Day Promise

Earth Day is a welcome reminder each year on April 22nd to renew your commitment to the environment. Our goal is to fill 300 burlap bags with trash in 2017, and encourage you to join us. Organize a clean up in your community – and we’ll provide the supplies!

We’ll send out 10 Clean Up Kits (containing 5 burlap LOVE bags + 5 sets of knit pink gloves). We just ask that you put this kit to good use… and share a photo or two of your team in action! To be considered for the prize: comment here, or on any of our social channels, with your plans to help the environment this Earth Day.

Fresh Produce has planned a Meet Up & Clean Up event at Dog Beach in Key West, Florida. We now fondly call this “our beach” as we adopted it with the city of Key West and are dedicated to keeping the space beautiful. We invite you to join us on this special day for this special cause. The clean up is only 30-45 minutes and you can truly make a difference!

There will also be an Earth Day Open House at our Boulder, Colorado store (on Pearl Street Mall) from 11am-2pm. We are so excited to partner with the ‘Boulder BeeChicas’ for this amazing event and will share more fun details soon!

Fun Facts: Earth Day was founded in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, a U.S. senator who inspired 20 million Americans to rally for a healthy, sustainable environment. In 1990 the movement went global, mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries. 2020 will be the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day – so let’s keep ramping up our efforts year after year until we hit that celebratory milestone!

Our local beaches have several pick up trash days. I would love to have this kit for friends and family when we attend.
