Emerald City

Pantone has just announced the 2013 color of the year… Emerald. Why emerald? It’s, “lively. Radiant. Lush. A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”

Now, when the weather is turning colder and we’re faced with the dull of winter, is a great time to infuse color into your wardrobe. Color has wonderful transformative properties that uplift, motivate, relax and inspire. Here are a few comfy and easy ways to add emerald hues to your wardrobe.

emereld_1Boca Dress ($54)
This dress is a great staple that works throughout the year. In the winter you can pair it with tights, comfortable boots and a sweater for a practical, yet stylish ensemble.

Standing Ovation Cardigan ($74)
A bright and colorful cardigan is an easy way to accent a dress or t-shirt with color. Pair it with simple jewelry for a classic look.

Anyday Top in Baja ($59)
Worn loose or with a complementary scarf or belt, the Anyday Top will take your emerald color from desk to dinner, and even out to run errands. It’s a great way to pair the year’s hottest color with comfortable, everyday style.

Stretch Broadcloth Safari Roll-up Pant ($74)
What better way to liven up your wardrobe than by replacing your jeans, slacks or khakis with a fun splash of color. We love pairing these emerald-hued pants with a breezy white top or another bright shade like sunburst or periwinkle for a truly stand-out-look.

Use great accessories like scarves and jewelry to add a pop of color to every outfit.
We love an every-day-staple piece like the Starfish Motif Scarf ($39). Scarves are easy-to-wear and incredibly versatile making them a must-have accessory.
Jewelry like the Adventure Stone Pendant Necklace ($19) or Drop Earrings ($22) are simple, yet classic pieces to pair with a any outfit from weekend wear to evening wear.

Do you love emerald? What color would you pair it with?
