Hi Fresh Produce friends!
Have you ever wanted to take a look at what happens behind the scenes at a Fresh Produce photo shoot? We recently headed out to Santa Barbara, CA for a fun photo shoot for our upcoming Summer 2012 line. We had a lot of fun and we’re incredibly excited about the new line.

We got stuck with an overcast day, but Lauren looks just as sunny and bright as ever in a few of our Summer 2012 pieces.

Meet Patrick and Neal, our photographer and videographer, respectively. Patrick is the artist behind the gorgeous photography you see both in our stores and on our website.

Our Director of Design, the lovely Gail Hartin (left) and Tee Mickle (right) styled the shoot with some effortless, colorful clothing from the new line, and brand new accessories you’ll be able to find in stores.

We’re head over heels for bright colors and fresh inspirations when it comes to our clothing. We passed on that love in our makeup styling for the shoot in a subtle way. Here our makeup artist gives one of our models a fresh, clean makeup look.
We can’t wait to share the new styles with you!

Our passion for bright, happy colors is well known. Even on a cloudy day, the right color can make you feel sunny and light. Imagine our delight when we discovered one of our favorite colors made the cut as the Hottest Color Trend for 2012.
Tangerine Tango (or as we at Fresh Produce like to call it “Sunrise”) scooped away the title from 2011 winner, Honeysuckle (picked for being an inspiration to face life’s everyday troubles with verve and vigor). Building off of last year’s theme, Pantone chose Tangerine Tango because the color lends energy to change and move forward. Every season, the color experts at the Pantone Color Institute put forth a palette of exciting new colors used all over the art and design world, from fashion to web. And every year, Pantone deems one color worthy enough to be the “hottest color”. 2012’s winner is a gorgeous and fun one.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director at Pantone, wanted a color that would be complementary to all the change we’re witnessing in the world: “There’s the element of encouragement with orange, it’s building on the ideas of courage and action, that we want to move on to better things. I think it would be a disservice to go with a relaxed, soothing color now.”

We love accessories- and scarves are one of our favorites this season. Scarves easily accent any outfit and add a little pop of color to a dreary winter day. From head wraps to sashes– you’ll be wondering how you ever walked out of the house without one.
Here are four stylish ways to add a little dazzle to your wardrobe with a scarf:
- Over The Head- A scarf tied neatly over your head will give you a little mystique (and protect your ‘do from snow and rain). It’s a bright, and welcome addition, of color against the muted tones of winter outerwear.

- The Boa- Wrap a scarf once around your neck so the ends are in front of you on each side. Take one end and wind it around the loop so that it spirals around. Then repeat with the other end giving the look of a Boa constrictor wrapped around your neck.
- The Waterfall- Create a waterfall look by wrapping the scarf around your neck once, leaving one end a
little longer than the other. Then take the inside corner of the longer end, bring it towards the opposite side and tuck it into the loop around your neck.
- An Accessorized Accessory- Purses are usually neutral colored and sometimes bland. Tie one around your handbag’s strap and give it a little edge and a touch of flare.
